What to Expect at Your Child’s First Ninja Class

Is your child gearing up for their first ninja class? Whether they’re excited, nervous, or somewhere in between, knowing what to expect can help make the experience smooth, fun, and stress-free for both of you!
At The Ninja Gym, we specialize in helping kids build strength, confidence, and agility in a fun and supportive environment. If you’re wondering what your child’s first class will be like, here’s everything you need to know.
1. Arrive a Few Minutes Early & Check In
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early so your child has time to get settled before class starts. When you arrive:
✅ Check in at the front desk
✅ Make sure your child has signed waivers completed
✅ Let them explore the space and meet their coach
If they’re feeling a little shy or unsure, don’t worry—our coaches are great at helping kids feel comfortable and excited about trying something new!
2. What to Wear & Bring
Ninja training is all about movement, so your child should wear:
✔️ Comfortable athletic clothes (shorts, leggings, or a t-shirt)
✔️ Grip socks or bare feet (regular socks can be slippery!)
✔️ A water bottle to stay hydrated
No need for fancy gear—just come ready to move!
3. A Fun, Active Warm-Up
Every class starts with a dynamic warm-up to get kids moving and prepared for the obstacles ahead. This might include:
🏃♂️ Running and jumping
🦸♀️ Stretching and mobility drills
🤸♂️ A fun game to build agility and coordination
Our warm-ups are designed to be exciting and engaging, so kids feel ready to tackle the course with confidence!
4. Learning & Practicing Obstacles
The main part of class focuses on learning ninja obstacles like:
💪 Swinging on bars and rings
🧗 Climbing walls, ropes, and ladders
🤸 Balancing on beams and slacklines
🏃 Jumping across platforms
Our coaches demonstrate each obstacle first, then guide kids through it at their own pace. We celebrate effort, progress, and perseverance, so even if they don’t master something right away, they’ll have fun trying!
5. Games & Challenges
What’s a ninja class without some friendly competition? Kids will have a blast with:
🔥 Obstacle course races
🎯 Grip strength challenges
⚡ Balance and speed drills
These activities help build confidence while keeping kids engaged and excited to come back for more!
6. Ending with High-Fives & Cool Down
At the end of class, kids will:
🙌 Do a cool-down stretch
💬 Recap what they learned
🎉 Get a high-five from their coach for their hard work!
We want every child to leave feeling accomplished, proud, and eager to return.
Tips for Parents: How to Make the First Class a Success!
✔️ Encourage, but don’t pressure! Some kids dive right in, while others need a little time to warm up—that’s okay!
✔️ Stay & watch. Parents are welcome to stay and cheer their child on!
✔️ Celebrate their effort! Focus on their progress, not perfection. Every attempt is a step forward!
